A vintage 9CT Gold Propelling retractable Pencil.It is hallmarked with the sponsor's mark JM&Co for Johnson, Matthey & Co, "9" and ".375" for 9 carat gold, the London town mark and date letter M for 1941/42.
Also stamped MADE IN ENGLAND.
Johnson, Matthey & Co. were suppliers of pen & pencil tubing to Yard-O-Led, one of the world's leading manufacturers of fine pens and pencils.
The pencil measures approximately 4 1/4" inches (105mm) in length. The total weight is 21.6g
