Description

A GOOD SCOTTISH SILVER DUX MEDAL,
A very good and rare, early 19th century, Scottish Dux Medal.
A Dux medal is awarded in Scotland to the pupil with the highest level of academic achievement in a class, subject or school.
This medal was awarded to Joannes Murray in 1830.
The medal is unmarked, therefore selling as white metal.
It measures 52mm in diameter and 5mm thick. The weight is 61.0g.
The medal complete with a fitted, presentation case (not sure if original).
