Description

A good, gentleman's American Waltham sterling silver cased Pocket Watch dating from c1916.
This watch is a good example, in nice condition and in good working order.
The English made, sterling silver case is in good condition, all covers opening and closing tightly as they should. It has full English hallmarks for sterling silver. The maker's mark "ALD" for Aaron Lufkin Dennison, the Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the anchor Birmingham town mark and the date letter "q" for 1915/16. Also stamped with the case maker's name "Dennison Watch Case Co Ltd.,". The rear of the case with engine turned engraving and a central cartouche that is free of initials.
The white enamel dial is in very good condition. It has the hours in Roman numerals and a sub-seconds dial at six o'clock. It is signed by the maker Waltham.
The good quality, Waltham Bond Street Lever movement is in excellent working order.
The watch measures 50mm in diameter (across the case, excluding the winding crown).
Overall, this is a very good example, it would make a lovely addition to any collection.
