A very good quality 14CT Solid Gold American HAMILTON Watch Company Pocket Watch with a Railroad grade 950, 23 Jewel movement.
A good example of a railroad grade pocket watch in a solid gold case, in good condition and good working order.
The 14 carat solid gold case is in excellent condition. The case stamped "Warranted 14K" for 14 carat gold. The case has an engraved inscription on the inner dust cover - see photo.
The white enamel dial is in good condition, however there are some hairlines. It has the hours in Arabic numerals and a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. It is signed by the maker "Hamilton". The glass is a good fit but not glued in therefore can pop out when the front cover is opened, my preference is to leave it but it could easily be glued in place.
The very good quality, Hamilton 950 grade, 23 Jewels movement is in excellent working order. It is signed by the maker "Hamilton Watch Co., Lancaster PA" and also "950 Motor Barrel" alongside "23 Jewels, Adjusted 5 Positions". It has a lovely damaskeened finish. All signs of a very good watch.
The watch measures 51mm in diameter (across the case, excluding the winding crown). The weight is 102.5g.
