A GOOD QUALITY, RARE, ANTIQUE SCOTTISH PROVINCIAL SILVER LADLE, WILLIAM SIMPSON, BANFF c1830.
A very nice, good quality, rare Scottish Provincial Silver Toddy Ladle by William Simpson, Banff and dating from c1830.
William Simpson I, is recorded in Jackson's Silver as working in Banff c1825 - 1855.
The ladle is hallmarked with the maker's mark "WS" for William Simpson, the letter "B" town mark for Banff and the Scottish thistle.
It is engraved with the initial "U".
It measures 6 1/4" inches (155mm) in length.
It is in excellent condition.
