Description

A GOOD ANTIQUE, GEORGIAN, ENGLISH STERLING SILVER SNUFF BOX, GEORGE III, c1806.
A nice, Antique, George III, English Silver Snuff Box. The box was made in Birmingham and dates from c1806.
It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "SP" for Samuel Pemberton, the Birmingham town mark, the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark and the date letter "i" for 1806/07.
The curved box has nicely engraved decoration to both lid and the base.
The box in good condition overall, but has some minor indents and wear as can be expected given the age.
The box measures approximately 63mm x 40mm x 14mm. The weight is 42.5g.
It is relatively rare to find a Georgian snuff box, it would make a nice addition to any collection.
