ANTIQUE GEORGE IV, ENGLISH STERLING SILVER SNUFF BOX, NATHANIEL MILLS c1830.
A very good quality, Antique, George IV, English Silver Snuff Box dating from c1830.
The inside of the base is hallmarked with the maker's mark "NM" for Nathaniel Mills, the Birmingham "anchor" town mark and date letter for 1830/31. The lid with the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark and maker's mark "NM".
The exterior of the box with engine turned engraving base and to all the sides. The lid with armorial crest and motto "Fortis et Stabilis".
The box measures 78mm x 48mm x 17mm.
The weight is 90.6g.
The box is in excellent condition.
