Description

A VERY GOOD PAIR OF GEORGIAN SCOTTISH STERLING SILVER SERVING SPOONS, EDINBURGH c1823.
A superb pair of Antique, Georgian, Scottish Sterling Silver, Fiddle & Shell pattern, Serving Spoons or large Table Spoons dating from c1823.
They are hallmarked with the maker's mark "GF" for George Fenwick, the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the "castle" town mark for Edinburgh and date letter "r" for 1823/24.
The spoons have a family crest with the motto in Latin "Discrimine Salus", meaning "In discrimination there is safety".
They measure 9" inches (230mm) in length. The weight is 132.4g
They are in excellent condition. A lovely item for the silver collector or for use on that special occasion.
