Description

A good Antique, Georgian, English Silver Snuff Box made in Birmingham and dating from c1821/22.
The inside of the base is hallmarked with the maker's mark "IS" for John Shaw, the anchor Birmingham town mark and the date letter "X" for 1821/22. The lid with the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark and maker's mark "IS".
The silver box with the lid engraved with a presentation inscription (see photo).
The box measures 80mm x 50mm x 23mm.
The weight is 117.3g.
The box is in very good condition. It would make an excellent addition to any collection.
