A very nice Scottish Provincial Silver Soup Ladle by a relatively rare maker, John Leslie of Aberdeen, dating from c1790.
John Leslie is recorded as working in Aberdeen c1774 - 1821.
The ladle is hallmarked with the maker's mark "IL" for John Leslie, alongside the letter "U" and "thistle" symbol.
The terminal is engraved with the letter "Y".
A nice, rare, Scottish Silver Soup Ladle in excellent condition, however there is minor shallow indent in the bowl.
It measures 13 1/4" inches (335mm) in length. It has a lovely circular bowl measuring 3 1/2" inches (95mm) in diameter.
The weight is 180.7g/6.37oz/5.80ozt
