Description

A very nice and rare, Scottish Provincial Silver Gravy (Basting or Stuffing) Spoon by John Heron of Greenock and dating from c1810.
John Heron is recorded as working in Greenock c1800 - 1830.
The spoon has very nice, crisp hallmarks the maker's mark "JH"" for John Heron, the town marks for Greenock, the "anchor", "sailing ship", the letter "C" and the "oak tree".
It measures approximately 11 3/4" inches (300mm) in length. The weight is 92.0g.
It is in excellent condition, a lovely addition to any collection, or for use on a special occasion.
