Description

A very good, Georgian Scottish Silver Tray made by Francis Howden of Edinburgh and dating from c1800.
The tray is supported on three feet. It has floral scrolling engraved decoration with initials engraved to the centre (see photo).
It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "FH" for Francis Howden, the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Edinburgh "castle" town mark and date letter "U" for 1800/01.
It measures approximately 8 1/2" inches (210mm) in diameter.
The weight is 340.5g/12.01oz/10.95ozt.
In good condition.
