Description

A very nice Scottish Provincial Silver Soup Ladle by Robert Dickson, Perth c1790.
Robert Dickson is recorded as working in Perth c1779 - 1796.
The ladle is hallmarked with the maker's mark "RD" (struck twice) for Robert Dickson and the double headed eagle Perth town mark.
There are also engraved initials to the underside.
The terminal is engraved with the crest of the Urquhart Family of Newhall Scotland. The Boar's Head below the motto "Per actum intentio" (The intention is judged of by the act).
A nice, rare Scottish Silver Soup Ladle in excellent condition.
It measures 14 1/4" inches (360mm) in length.
It has a lovely circular bowl measuring 4" inches (100mm) in diameter.
The weight is 188.2g/6.63oz/6.05ozt
