Description

A very good Antique, Swiss made, Sterling Silver Centre Seconds Chronograph Pocket Watch in immaculate condition and excellent working order, retailed by Thomas Russell & Son of Liverpool.
The plain sterling silver case is hallmarked with the case maker's mark "WHS" for William Henry Sparrow (Spencer Street, Birmingham), the ".925" mark for sterling silver, the London town import mark and date letter "b" for 1917/18. The case also has the serial number 203103, the number repeated on the movement proving both are original and have been together since new.
The centre sunk white enamel dial is in excellent condition. It has the hours in Roman numerals and signed "Thos. Russell & Son, Liverpool" and "Swiss made".
The stop facility operated by a slide on the case side band (between 3 & 4 o'clock). The mechanism functioning correctly as it should.
The Swiss made movement in good condition and working order. It is signed ""Thos. Russell & Son, Liverpool" and also "Maker to Queen Victoria", the firm being holders of the Royal Warrant.
The watch measures 55mm in diameter (across the case). The weight is 121.5g.
