Description

A very good Antique, early Victorian 18CT Gold English Fusee Pocket Watch by one of the most highly regarded and sought after English makers Frodsham, Gracechurch Street, London.
The watch is in very good overall condition and and excellent working order.
The English 18 carat gold case is hallmarked with the case maker's mark "AS", the "crown and "18" for 18 carat gold, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "P" for 1850/51. The plain gold case has the family crest of the original owner engraved to the centre of the rear cover. The suspension loop is not hallmarked therefore not gold and may be a later replacement.
The English Fusee movement is signed by the maker "Frodsham, Gracechurch St., London". It has a nicely engraved balance cock with a diamond end stone. The watch is key wound and key set with the key provided.

The white enamel dial is in reasonably good condition, but does have some imperfections as can be seen, there are some faint hairlines adn a chip at the top above twelve o'clock (see photo). It has the hours in roman numerals and has a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. It is signed "Frodsham, Gracechurch Street, London".
The watch measures 48mm in diameter (across the case). The weight is 76.2g.
