George III, Scottish Silver Tray, Edinburgh c1802

Description

A very good, Georgian Scottish Silver Tray made by McHattie & Fenwick of Edinburgh and dating from c1802.
The tray is supported on three feet. It has floral scrolling engraved decoration with an a crest engraved to the centre (worn).
It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "M&F" for McHattie & Fenwick, the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Edinburgh "castle" town mark and date letter "W" for 1802/03.
It measures approximately 6 1/2" inches (165mm) in diameter.
The weight is 209.8g/7.40oz/6.75ozt.
