An extremely nice, vintage 9CT Gold Book Page Marker by Asprey & Co, London and dating from 1927.It has full English hallmarks - the maker's mark "A&Co.Ltd" for Asprey & Co, "9" and ".375" for 9 carat gold, the London town mark and the date letter "m" for 1927/28. It is also stamped "Asprey, London" and "PatNo.257529".
On 24th April 1926, Asprey & Co applied for this patent for "an Improved Book Marker", the full text and sketch of the item can be viewed online.
