Description

A very good quality, Victorian Scottish Silver Christening Mug made by Marshall & Sons of 87 George Street, Edinburgh and dating from 1870.
The mug is stamped to the base with the maker's name "Marshall & Sons, 87 George Street, Edinburgh" and hallmarked with the Monarch's Head (Queen Victoria) duty mark, the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the Edinburgh "castle" town mark and date letter "o" for 1870/71.
The mug has a engraved initials to the front.
It measures approximately 3" inches (77mm) in height and 2 3/4" inches (70mm) in diameter.
The weight is 154.1g/5.43oz/4.95ozt
