An Antique, Victorian 9CT Gold Scottish Golf Medal awarded to the famous Scottish Amateur Golf Champion James Robb.
James Robb was a member of the Prestwick St Nicholas Golf Club. His career is well documented. He was an impressive golfer, his first win of the Amateur Championship was at Hoylake in 1906, having been runner-up in 1897 and 1900.
This medal is is from Glasgow Golf Club, Spring Meeting, Scratch Won by James Robb c1900.
It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "R&S", also "9" and ".375" for 9 carat gold, the Glasgow town mark and date letter "C" for 1899/1900.
The medal measures 35mm x 25mm and the weight is 7.9g
