Description

A very nice, good quality, George IV, Large English Silver Snuff Box. The box was made in Birmingham and dates from c1822.
It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "TS" for Thomas Shaw, the Birmingham town mark, the Lion Passant Sterling Silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark and the date letter "y" for 1822/23.
The box has reeded sides and engine turned decoration to both lid and the base. The base with some very minor flat spots at the edge where the engraving has worn as can be expected given the age.
The box measures approximately 90mm x 58mm x 35mm. The weight is 119.2g
It is in excellent overall condition.
