A Scottish Provincial Silver, small Sauce Ladle made in Montrose by William Mill and dating from c1820.
There is an engraved initials "JEW" on the handle.
The ladle is hallmarked with the maker's initials "WM" for William Mill (struck three times) and the "rose" town mark for Montrose (struck twice).
It measures just under 5 1/2" inches (140mm) in length. The bowl is 1 1/4" inches (31mm) in diameter.
It is in excellent condition.
William Mill is recorded as working in Montrose c1815 - 1820.
