A very good, rare, Gentleman's 14CT Solid Gold Cased Pocket Watch made by the very highly regarded and sought after IWC, the International Watch Company, Schaffhausen. This watch is an excellent example, in superb condition and very good working order.
The 14 carat solid gold hunter case is in excellent condition, plain gold with no engravings or other forms of personalisation. It is stamped inside the rear cover with "14K/0.585/56" alongside Swiss control marks for 14 carat solid gold. It also bears the IWC trade mark and serial number. The inner cuvette (inner dust cover) not gold. The cuvette also engraved with the maker's name "International Watch Co., Schaffhausen".
The dial is in excellent condition, it has the hours in Arabic numerals and a sub seconds dial at six o'clock. It is signed by the maker "International Watch Co., Schaffhausen".
The good quality movement is in excellent working order. The movement is stem wound and set.
The watch measures 50mm in diameter (across the case, excluding the winding crown).
An extremely nice example of a fine watch made by IWC.
