George III, Scottish Silver 10" Tray c1789

Description

A very good quality, Antique, George III, Sterling Silver Tray made by Alexander Gardner, Edinburgh and dating from c1789.
It is hallmarked with the maker's mark "AG" for Alexander Gardner, Edinburgh, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the Scottish "thistle" sterling silver mark, the "Castle" Edinburgh town mark and date letter "J" for 1789/90.
The heavy gauge, circular tray is supported on three bracket feet and has a plain raised rim.
The tray measures 10" inches (250mm) in diameter.
The weight is 561g/19.8oz/18ozt.
It is in very good condition with very minimal light scratches/wear through normal use commensurate with age.
