Scottish Silver Verge Fusee Pocket Watch

Description

A nice Victorian, Silver Verge Fusee Pocket Watch made by Greiner, Galashiels, in very good good condition but sadly missing the fusee chain therefore not working, being sold as in need of repair.
The outer case has an old Watchmaker's paper from Henderson, 29 South Bridge, Edinburgh.
Both solid silver cases are in good condition. They are hallmarked with the Lion Passant silver mark, the Leopard's head London town mark, the case maker’s initials "WC" for William Carter and the date letter "m" for 1867/68.
William Carter was a watch case maker, with premises at Goswell Road, London EC recorded as working c1856 - 1871.
The Verge Fusee movement is not in working order. It is key wound and set. The movement has a nicely engraved balance cock and is signed by the maker "Greiner, Galashiels".
The white enamel dial is in very good condition, (see photo). It has the hours in Roman numerals. The glass is in very good condition.
