Description

An exquisite, Victorian English Silver Vinaigrette made by George Unite, Birmingham and dating from c1884.
This nicely shaped vinaigrette has crisp, engine turned engraving to both top and base, the top having a shield shaped central cartouche that is free of initials.
The top opening to reveal a lovely engraved, pierced grill.
It is hallmarked on the inside of the lid with the maker's mark "GU" for George Unite, The Lion Passant sterling silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark (Queen Victoria), the Birmingham anchor town mark and date letter "k" for 1884/85.
A lovely quality vinaigrette in excellent condition.
