Description

A superb pair of Antique, George III, Scottish Sterling Silver Gravy, Basting or Stuffing Spoons dating from c1790.
They are hallmarked with the maker's mark "IG" for James Gilsand, the Scottish thistle sterling silver mark, the Monarch's Head duty mark, the "castle" town mark for Edinburgh and date letters "I/J" for 1789/90.
The spoons have the engraved initial "C" to the terminals.
They measure 11 1/2" inches (295mm) in length.
The weight is 142.9g/5.04oz/4.59ozt
They are in excellent condition.
