A very nice, good quality, English Silver Card or Cigarette Case made by W H Manton Ltd , Birmingham.It has engine turned engraving and a gold thumb piece. It is free of engraved initials or inscriptions.
It is hallmarked with the maker’s mark “WHM" for W H Manton Ltd, the anchor Birmingham town mark, the Lion Passant Silver Mark and the the date letter "W" for 1946/47.
