Description

An interesting folk art, hand carved soldier or other military person standing at an impressive 40 cm height.
Possibly crafted by a soldier, early 'trench art'
He would likely be created in the likeness of a senior officer?
His square jaw, his stern expression all 'paint a picture'
We're sure that the uniform will be obvious to somebody and reveal his origin.
Offered as found, his somewhat sound but distressed appearance obvious.
He has a couple of cracks to the wood which is particularly light in weight, perhaps a tropical wood which may help further to reveal his identity.
Above all despite his stern expression, a delightful large piece of folk art.
Without any indication as to his origin he is hard to date but we have estimated, early 20th century
