Beautifully cast late 18th century table bell, c1790.

Cast in bell metal/bronze it is heavy for its size at almost 1kg and bears the makers name 'R Wells'. Robert Wells was one of the Country's most famous bell makers in the 18th/19th century making church, hand and crotal bells. His fame spread worldwide and there is a large display of Wells bells in Swan Tower, Perth Australia.

Overall condition is good, the bell has great tone, rings well and the metal has taken on great colour/patina.
