Description

Large, rare early 19th century Russian Christening bowl,c1820.The bowl is hand carved and decorated with metal embellishments and amazing iconographic art work. There is script carved into the bowl which I assume is an artists signature. Overall condition is good with minor surface wear /rubbing ,historical cracking and minor losses to the metalwork etc. The wood has great colour/patina and the paintings have a subtle fading/mellowness that only comes with age and use.
