Description

Handsome mid 19th.c. barometer by J.B Dancer of Manchester c.1848. Pollard oak veneered case with crisply carved acanthus detail housing an open mercury tube barometer with an unusually large 12" diameter dial plus a spirit thermometer above. Silvered barometer dial with lovely engraved detail, named for Dancer and with a Registered design number dated September 14th, 1848. Original hand and adjustable marker. Bevelled glass face and ebonized bezel. Turned bone cap to the marker key. Excellent working condition, the barometer has been cleaned and overhauled. Case cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
