Description

Good quality Italian polychrome painted terracotta bust of a Renaissance woman c.1960. After a portrait bust by the 15th.c. Florentine artist Antonio del Pallaiolo. A young woman with fine features, in the courtly dress of period. The hair worn tied with a ribbon with a piece of jewellery at the centre and wearing a red and gold bodice with blue sleeves. Stamped Made In Italy inside together with a faint maker's mark. Some wear to the paintwork at the rear, otherwise very good condition.
