Description

Beautiful 19th.c. walnut writing box c.1870. Lockable cabinet opening to reveal a lovely fitted interior with a calender display (which lifts out with space below) over a graduated rack for stationery descending to an ink stand with original glass bottles and pen shelf. Sliding white glass tablet for notes inside the right hand door, the left has a couple of brass stays to hold papers. With a slim drawer in the base which is locked when the cabinet is closed. Highly figured burr walnut veneers laid in a symmetrical pattern across the front. Solid walnut back, sides and interior. Damage to the glass slide otherwise excellent condition with original key, locks, hinges and calender cards. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
