Description

Remarkable late 19th.c. brass standard lamp c.1890. Adapted from an oil lamp, the bulb is raised on a column cast with a twisting pattern of ivy leaves with the original fittings. On a highly decorative tripod base in heavy gauge brass with elaborate scrolling foliate supports and hoof feet. Unusually, the column also supports a useful wine table (16″ diameter) in pale marble with a pierced brass edge. Excellent condition, cleaned and polished, rewired and sold with a PAT test certificate.
