Description

Very stylish large Art Deco terracotta figure of Diana the Roman goddess of the hunt c.1930 by the Italian born sculptor Ugo Cipiani (1887-1960). 26″ long, beautifully modelled as an archer in a dynamic kneeling pose on a stepped plinth base. In terracotta with an attractive painted finish to imitate verdigris bronze. With original metal bow. Signed U. Cipriani on the plinth and stamped Terre Guite D’Art on the rear. Repairs to the fingers on both hands, otherwise very good original condition.
