Description

Delightful collection of six 1950’s stuffed animals by the great German toy makers Steiff, famed creators of the Teddy bear in 1902. A beautiful large tiger (almost 3 feet long excluding the tail) with three cubs (two small and one larger) and a lion with single cub, all in a lying position. The largest tiger ‘growls’ when squeezed, and retains the original Steiff button to the inside of the ear. Generally good vintage condition, signs of wear typical of age, each of the animals retain their original glass eyes, unfortunately the lion cub appears to have fallen foul of a family pet at some point and is missing a small portion of the face.
Lengths (excluding tails): Tiger 35″, Lion 23″, Tiger cub 14″, Lion cub 10″, Small tiger cubs 9″.
