Description

Large and dramatic Art Deco figure by the Swiss artist and sculptor Gustave Buchet (1888-1963) c.1930. Semi nude figure of a man straining to move a giant rock with a pole. Crisply cast in spelter and mounted on a heavy black slate base, the boulder is piece of unusually figured and polished marble. Clearly signed ‘Buchet’. Excellent condition with original colour and patina.

Dimensions width 29″, depth 6¼”, height 14″.
