Description

Superb mid 18th.c. oak tack or cloak cupboard c.1760. In two pieces, a little larger than many we see, with a two door cupboard top fitted inside with 26 wooden pegs for hanging coats, bags etc. On a base with an open top (to allow for extra hanging length inside) and two drawers in the base. Internal depth 18½", internal hanging height is 55" from the hooks. Flared and moulded cornice over a very handsome front featuring rows of ogee pointed arch-shaped raised and fielded panels set within moulded rails and mullions. Note the lovely grain of the timber and the pegged construction. Raised and fielded drawer fronts with brass button knobs and oak drawer linings. Oak fielded panelled sides and oak backboards. Excellent colour and condition. Restored, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
