Description

Unusually large French painted double bed c.1920. Very nearly six and a half feet wide. Designed to accommodate an 66" x 80" mattress. Shaped and moulded head and foot boards, the head topped with a carved and pierced spray of acanthus leaves and flowers. Both raised on scrolling acanthus feet. Side rails also shaped and moulded. Painted a pale putty grey, worn and rubbed through in places to reveal the walnut frame. With two simple wooden cross stretchers. Good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
