Description

Splendid large carved wooden figure of an Indian elephant c.1960. Carved from a single block as an Indian elephant dressed in a howdah cloth or Jhul as for a festival. Carved and gilded detail to the cloth, carved detail to the skin on the trunk and flanks. Painted eye and nails. Wooden tusks in a paler wood. Very good condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
