Description

Beautiful mid 18th.c. Welsh oak settle c.1750. High backrest with seven raised and fielded panels set within moulded rails and mullions. Open ends with slightly curved and sloping arms supported on the square front stiles with simple moulded detail. Seat (height 16") featuring a lovely 13" wide main board of particularly nice grain and patina. Three useful drawers in the base with a simple scratch carved detail to the drawer fronts and later ring handles. Raised and fielded panels to the sides and (unusually) the rear of the base. Very good condition with some earlier repairs and restorations. Excellent original colour. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
