Description

Remarkable scratch built model of a rowing boat, winner of the first prize in the arts section at the 1935 Caernarfon Eisteddfod. Measuring 38" long with extraordinary attention to detail and quality craftsmanship. Traditional clinker-built hull in pine (note the copper nails used) with mahogany gunwales and seats. Featuring a working rudder operated with steering ropes, a pair of oars with leather grips, a long boat hook with brass end, movable brass rowlocks and a brass anchor. Removable floor in the stern and removable foot stretchers. Beautiful condition, presented as found with the original stand and award notice.
