Description

Large plaster or chalk figure of a woman carrying a vase, often described as a water carrier, c.1900. Standing 28" tall. Full length figure of a young woman in a red headscarf holding a large vase. Posed beside a tree trunk the top of which is open to form a flower pocket. Lovely mottled paintwork to the woman's blouse and skirt and to the vase. Inscribed Deposé 256 at the rear of the base. Excellent condition and with just some minor damage to the fingers on the lower hand.
