Description

Large 16th.c. style Flemish woven tapestry wall hanging. 81" x 54" panel. Taken from the Hunts of Maximilian series of twelve tapestries now to be found in the Louvre. Depicting The Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian and other noblemen on horseback with a detailed view of the city of Brussels in the background. Within a border of flowers and fruit plus a classical frieze along the bottom edge. Presented hung from a fluted brass rail with pine cone finials. Excellent condition.
