Description

This has to be the best Viking Stirrup Terminal I have had in many years. Who ever had 2 of these fitted to their iron stirrups must have carried quite a bit of clout. They would have been fitted to each corner of the stirrup for decoration.
This one has a heavy interlaced pattern and terminating at the end in what appear to be nostrils? It could represent a beast's head. A rare large piece of Viking work,4.3cm long x 2cm in width X 1.8cm deep
