A good quality gold cased French pocket watch, with a verge movement, by a fine Paris maker.

MOVEMENT : Verge movement, with large, finely engraved and pierced balance bridge, large silver regulator disk and four square pillars.
Signed ‘Juln. Le Roy A Paris’.

The movement is in very good original condition and is running well.

DIAL : Original signed white enamel dial with no hairlines, but chip repairs at the winding aperture and on the edge at 6. Unmatched gilt hands.

CASE : The fine gold case, with bright cut engraving, is in excellent condition throughout. Maker’s mark MD below a star.
All tested as 20 carat gold.

The hinge and catch are fine and the bezel snaps shut correctly.
The high dome crystal is also fine.
