Cylinder movement

MOVEMENT Fine quality gilt cylinder movement, with beautifully engraved and pierced balance cock, engraved plate and diamond endstone. Signed and numbered (5476). Four round pillars. Brass escape wheel and steel cylinder. In very good condition and running well.

DIAL White enamel dial in good condition, with some light scratches, some very light hairlines towards the edge between 10 and 11, and some small chips around the edge at 2 and 4. Fine original 18th century gold beetle and poker hands.
The dial has the movement number (5476) fired into the enamel on the back.

INNER CASE Silver hallmarks for London, 1785, maker's mark TC. In very good condition throughout. The high dome crystal and hinge are fine and the bezel closes well.

OUTER CASE Silver pair case with matching hallmarks to the inner. A nice heavy case, in perfect condition except for a little wear to the neck.

Thomas Watson of Aldersgate Street, London is listed between 1776 and 1818.
