Description

MOVEMENT Gilded verge fusee movement, with engraved and pierced balance cock with diamond endstone. Signed (Tho. Picken, EDINBURGH) and numbered (2783). All in good original condition and running well.

DIAL Cream enamel, in good condition except for some damage on the edge at 6 o'clock.

INNER CASE Silver, hallmarked for London, 1835. Maker's mark WH. Good condition except for wear to the bow. The high dome crystal has some chips on the edge at 5, and a few surface scratches. The hinge and catch are fine and the case closes properly.

OUTER CASE Silver, with matching hallmarks to the inner. Nice heavy case in excellent condition throughout except that the catch spring is absent. The hinge is fine.

Thomas Picken is listed as working in West Bow, Edinburgh, between 1820 and 1850.
