Description

An unusual half hunter cased verge, with a wonderful dial.

MOVEMENT Fully signed and numbered (2989). Gilded verge movement with engraved and pierced balance cock. Excellent original condition and running well.
Unusual regulator which is a transitional type between the Tompion and Bosley types.

DIAL White enamel. Excellent condition except for one tiny flake at the winding aperture.

CASE London hallmarks for 1810, maker IR. In fine condition throughout.
The little high dome crystal is fine.

Charles Vessey is listed in Ramsey (Hunts) between 1830 and 1877 though this watch is a little earlier. The case is clearly hallmarked for 1810 and is definitely original to the movement.
