Here we have the finest of George III Yew wood Windsor armchairs c1800. As you can see the chair has outstanding colour and patina. Apart from the thicj saddle shaped Elm seat every inch of the is chair is Yew. Not only is it Yew but great care has taken place in choosing the perfect timbers for this chair. The top rail has been cut with Pippy Yew showing in spots of the burr. The central splat which is very fine and decorative has beautiful burr in the grain. There is a stick back and hooped arms.with wonderrful straight grain and warm colour. The ends of the arms have super carved scroll detail. There are beautufully turned arms supports and as you would expect there is a thick super grainy Elm seat. The legs also have fantastic turnings and are joined by a crinoline stretcher. The very best of chairs in great retail condition ready for your home. The dimensions are approx 90 cm high 70 cm wide 45 cm deep.
